"Hello everyone! First off, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the drawing for the entry into the regional and to thank those that participated in the regional.

We were able to raise $120.00 for the men and $150.00 for the ladies!

Our men's drawing winner was Phil O'Neill from Santa Barbara! This left us an additional $10 for someone else, and Mark Veitch of San Diego won this, but kindly donated back to the cause.

For the ladies, Deb Pundt from San Diego was our winner and that left $40.00 extra for a second lady and Darla Glass-Hill from Orange County won this. She decided to throw in her extra $70.00 and played her first regional event on Sunday.

The results for the men and ladies were as follows and the winners will now go on to compete in the National Playoffs in Houston in June!

And let me tell ya, do not let the final point totals fool you. So many of these mens and ladies matches could have gone either way and many, many matches I watched...he he he...and played in.... came down to who was finally able to nab those blasted doubles first! The doubles were the biggest factor of the day.

I would also like to add my personal thank you to the ladies that played. Not everyone knows this, but in the last 10 years that I have been back in California playing, that means about 40 regional playoffs we could have had, this region has only sent ladies to the national level I think a total of 6 times. I am stoked that this regional was a success, not because I lucked out and won, but because the ladies really stepped up for the effort and a huge congrats to them. They are stepping up even more huge and are going to help me with raising the other $220 to go to Houston. Can't ask for any better effort than that! I am looking forward to more raffles, and working harder to get some sponsor donations so we can start sending more than one lady and one man to each national playoff. And if you have ideas, please send them!
